The biggest three big cost items for the reunion are hotel, group outing, and family meals.
HOTEL ROOMS
Hotel rooms are about $90 a night. You will be staying in the hotel, Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night. For those three nights, it will cost you about $270.
ENTERTAINMENT POSSIBILITIES
Last time, we were in this area, we ate and played at Six Flags of America. The cost was $35 per person. They have gone up tremendously. Click here for the new rates (these are not the group rate prices) https://www.sixflags.com/global/assets/images/thumb/thumb_2013SeasonPass.jpg. Our group rate is $28.99. This does NOT INCLUDE FOOD! Once we decide that this is our activity, I will negotiate the food and the prices.
We have NOT toured the White House in YEARS. There are new monuments down town DC, and there are FREE MUSEUMS to visit. We could all go to a game together and eat hot dogs and popcorn. These are other inexpensive ways to have fun and get to know each other better.
I believe my best memories of us being together, however, is the free flowing picnic in a park (who remembers the broken bench?). We could all chip in and have a day at the park with games and activities that we create, e.g., a game of softball, sack races, egg races, and a host of other fun activities that would be free and fun, AND JUST US! I believe that we could handle the transportation with a few big trucks, mini-vans, cars, and a mini-bus (I will supply that with minimum cost).
DINNER AND BREAKFAST
You will need to pay for our dinner meal on Friday (about $40 for adults and $25 for children) and our Sunday breakfast (about $15 for adults and $10 for children). All other meals can be on your own and could include buying food from the store and eating in your rooms, and there is always McDonalds, Burger King, and other fast food items.

There is some relief with big families, BUT NOT MUCH. If we decide on Six Flags of America, it will cost what Six Flags chages the group. If we go with a family picnic and entertainment in the pak, the cost is MUCH LESS regardless of family size. If we do the museums down town DC, the cost is the rid on the metro and whatever each family decides to eat (you can back pack your lunch with you), and souvenirs that you purchase.
Think of it as a family vacation with a special twist, and the twist is getting to celebrate family in the Washington DC area. AND, believe me it is not the cheapest area in the Country, but you CAN enjoy most things for free, but not eating and sleeping. LOL

T-SHIRTS for the Family Reunion will be royal blue (like the old milk of magnesia bottles that Grand-daddy used to hang up on his fences around the old house with white lettering) cost:
Small (children up to age 5) -- $5
Small (children up to age 12) -- $10
Small (adults) -- $12
Medium (adults) -- $15
Large (adults) -- $15
X-Large (adults) -- $15
XX-Large (adults) -- $20
XXX-Large (adults) -- $20
You can start paying for the T-SHIRTS in advance, so that they will not be a burden later. It will also help me order and distribute the T-SHIRTS early. NOTE: We always wear our T-SHIRTS on our outing on Saturday so that we can keep up with everybody. So, keep that in mind when you are ordering.
